MADRID PARKS:
Join us for a visit to some of Madrid’s most iconic parks, where participants will gain firsthand knowledge from urban forestry managers of Madrid City Hall and managers from Patrimonio Nacional (National Heritage). This visit is designed to complement the presentations and discussions of the Urban Tree Diversity Conference (UTD5) in Madrid, offering a practical exploration of urban forestry and heritage management.
OPTION 1: EL RETIRO
El Retiro is one of Madrid’s biggest and most iconinc parks. Covering over 125 hectares and comprising more than 15,000 trees, El Retiro Park–recently named a UNESCO World Heritage Site–is a green oasis in the heart of the city.

OPTION 2: PARQUE DEL OESTE, PLAZA DE ESPAÑA, CAMPO DEL MORO, MADRID RÍO
This visit will cover four different parks in Madrid, starting in Parque del Oeste, then Plaza de España, Campo del Moro and finishing in Madrid Río. It will require walking 2,5-3 km.

SATURDAY 26TH
VISIT TO ARANJUEZ
Join us for an engaging excursion on Saturday, October 26th, morning, as part of the Urban Tree Diversity Conference (UTD5). This guided tour will provide participants with insights into Madrid’s diverse landscapes, driving South to the historic city of Aranjuez where we will visit historic tree lines and royals gardens.

We will drive to aranjuez by bus. Coffe and lunch will be provided.
